ANALYSIS: The official linebacker of the NBA happens to play in Oklahoma City--and he's far from bad at doing this thing they call Thunder Basketball. Dort has started all 16 games he's played, is averaging 31 MPG on the court, and barring a tank-geared benching he shouldn't suffer any downtick in volume going forward.
The only negative I see on Dort's stat lines is that every few games he'll gift you a stinker on the scoring/shooting front. Overall, though, his fantasy points tend to stay pretty solid and steady from a game-to-game perspective. The per-minute efficiency isn't remotely good, mind you, but that's more a result of his high playing time rather than any lack of production.
Dort has scored at least one 3-point shot in 13 of his 16 games while averaging 1.5 3PM a pop. He's scored double-digit points in all but four matches. In his last six games through Friday (from Nov. 9 on), Dort has averaged 27 FPPG to the tune of an average 15-5-1.5-1 line. Someone has to shoot the rock, and that's why he's hoisting 12+ FGA a pop making up for the lack of efficiency on pure brute force and sheer will.
Just 24 players in the whole NBA are averaging 1.5+ 3PM, 4+ RPG, 2+ APG, and 1+ SPG through Friday, and Dort is one of them. Even better for those in 9-cat leagues, just four of those 24 are doing so without committing more than 1.5 TOPG. Dort is one of two among those four rostered in fewer than 79% of all ESPN leagues.
