Hey there RotoBallers, and thanks again for joining me for some more League of Legends DFS analysis. I'll be handling the Friday morning LPL/OPL playoff slate on DraftKings and giving you my top picks for the slate as well as my favorite strategies for building LoL rosters.
Here we go again with another late night/early morning slate for all you insomniacs/early birds. DraftKings has put together another two-game slate by pairing the OPL finals with the first of the LPL quarterfinal matches. FanDuel also has single-game contests for the LPL match. Both sites have large contests with big payouts. DraftKings continues E-week with a $50K to first contest. FanDuel’s largest single-game contest has a top prize of $10K.
Today, I'll be providing my League of Legends analysis, strategy and lineup picks for the LPL/OPL playoff slate on DraftKings that locks at 2:00 AM on Friday, April 24, 2020, and also the FanDuel single-game slate that locks at 5:00 AM on Friday, April 24, 2020. Once again, these matches tonight are best of five games, not the best of three format that we saw during the regular season.

DraftKings OPL/LPL Slate
DraftKings is throwing another small league at us to make tonight’s slate a two gamer. OPL is the Australian league and tonight’s match is the finals for Split 1. The top seed Legacy Esports is a heavy favorite with good reason. LGC cruised into the playoffs on an eight-game win streak ending the season with a win over Chief Esports.
Round 2 of the winner’s bracket saw LGC matched up with CHF again which they easily won 3-1. Dire Wolves won two 3-2 matches to advance to the finals from the Lower Bracket. LGC easily beat DW in their three games during the Split 1 season. One of the games was so one-sided that DW somehow managed to not get any kills. Avoid DW unless you’re maxing out large GPPs.
Top Esports is also a heavy favorite. They haven’t lost a game since adding JackeyLove. Their 1-2 loss to Team WE was with Photic and QuiQui starting. JackeyLove and yuyanija are starting tonight. WE is the better of the two underdogs but still should be faded unless you’re building a lot of lineups and need to hedge in large GPPs.
Game stacks can be optimal on a two-game slate. It’s less likely with both matches being the best of five games. If you want to roster WE players in order to pivot off chalkier builds, one-offs are the better option. If you’ve been following the season, you already know that Morgan dies a lot. Missing is a better WE punt than Morgan. Beishang can score well even in a loss and is the best option for a one-off especially if WE steals a game or two.
- Beishang - JNG ($6600 DraftKings / $12500 FanDuel)
- Missing - SUP ($5200 DraftKings / $8500 FanDuel)
A TES four-man stack with LGC at TEAM is going to be the preferred build for most lineups. In this split, LGC is in the top ten in the world for barons per game. They are also likely to get at least one bonus for game duration under 30 minutes. Two out of three of their games against DW were less than 30 minutes. JNG and TOP are good options for the rest of an LGC stack.
In one of the three games against DW, Topoon had six kills. The opposing TOP, Chippys, died 12 times over three games with only one kill. Babip was second on the team in kill share percentage in those games with only two deaths. Punting SUP is always an option and this match is no different. Isles only died once in the three games against DW.
- Babip - JNG ($6800)
- Topoon - TOP ($6200)
JackeyLove and Knight should be locked into your TES stacks. If you need to save salary, Knight has been the more consistent of the two. It will be hard to fit Knight or JackeyLove at CPT especially in a recommended TES four stack. The preferred build tonight is JNG at CPT as there are multiple strong options.
TOP at CPT has been more optimal in two-game slates than SUP. As mentioned above, Morgan dies a lot which is a good matchup for 369. TOP and SUP are most optimal at CPT in 3-0 matches as both positions are less likely than others to score 20 points in a loss.
- JackeyLove - ADC ($7800 DraftKings / $16000 FanDuel)
- Knight - MID ($7600 DraftKings / $14500 FanDuel)
- 369 - TOP ($6400 DraftKings / $11000 FanDuel)

FanDuel Single-Game Slate
Lineup construction for the FanDuel single-game contests is very important in LOL in part due to the limited options. It can be difficult to even cash if you don’t have the right players in the MVP and All-Star slots.
JackeyLove and Knight are the best players on TES and have been in the top three in points for TES in four out of the six games since JackeyLove joined the team. Splitting the MVP and All-Star slots aren’t often optimal but can happen in a bloody match that goes five games.
The most common lineup construction for Single Game is a four-man stack with a one-off from the opposing team. In a 3-0 match, this will almost always be the optimal lineup construction. In 3-1 and 3-2 matches, a three-man stack with a pair is optimal almost as often as a four stack with a one-off.
ADC/MID/JNG and MID/JNG/TOP are the most common three stacks. ADC/SUP is the most common pair. A good way to think about four stacks is that they are either two pairs or a three-stack plus a punt. Two pair construction is usually ADC/SUP/MID/JNG.
A three-stack plus a punt would be ADC/MID/JNG/TOP or adding TEAM to either of the above three stacks. The one-off from the opposing team is most frequently MID. Salary constraints make it hard to pay up for ADC.
Summary
- Both favorites are on hot streaks coming into these matches. Upsets are unlikely.
- Game stacks are unlikely to be optimal on this slate. WE one-offs could be viable for large GPPs especially if the match goes five games.
- If you’re making a lot of lineups, some exposure to WE could be viable. DW should be faded unless you’re maxing out large GPPs.
- If salary constraints do not allow for MID or ADC at CPT, a JNG is preferred.
- In a 3-0 match, a four stack with a one-off from the opposing team is very likely to be optimal in the FanDuel single-game contests. In a 3-1 or 3-2 match, a four stack with a one-off, or a three-stack with a pair are equally viable.
