5:00 AM: Team WE (-185) Vs. Suining
Were getting two teams that played on our first day coming back on day three looking to move into solo first place in the LPL. I don't think we found out any new information from either team on Friday AM.
WE still want to move around the map, and force plays whether or not they are in a good position to do so or not, and SNG has the talent to hold off the bottom tier of teams. We saw this matchup in week four in the spring split with WE taking a 2-1 victory off Beishang's INSANE game three on Ekko.
The odds on this matchup are moving much closer, and I expect the game itself to be similarly close. WE have better objective numbers, while SNG has better vision. They both play similar styles though SNG focus a bit more in the lane while WE look to roam more often. WE have the advantage top and jungle, and they mitigate Teacherma's weakness in mid lane with their roaming style.
SNG has the advantage slightly on the bot side and in mid. I don't take too much away from Friday's games as I believe that LNG is one of the worst teams in the league, and EDG more lost that series than WE won. This set will be each of these team's chance to prove something to all of us, and I like WE to do so.
I won't be counting out the side of SNG, because if Angel can do his best Scout impersonation, then I think they can take this. Either way, I see this being a 2-1 series for whoever takes it down. This series will be the bloodier of the two matches, and I will be loading up on this one for most of my lineups on Sunday.
Top WE Plays:
- Beishang - JNG
- Juimeng - ADC
- Missing - SUP
- Teacaherma - MID
Top SNG Plays:
- Huanfeng - ADC
- Angle - MID
- SofM - JNG
- SwordArt - SUP

7:00 AM: BLG vs. Vici Gaming (-175)
Well, I was looking forward to this game to get an early gauge on two teams that I was looking to see improvement from in the summer. BLG and VG both just missed playoffs in the spring and finished within a game of each other. Now that starting lineups have been released, and I am no longer excited.
Anyone who's followed me for a bit knows my undying love for BLG's jungler Meteor, but he's not starting this morning for some unknown reason. I assume that L3est16 has some synergy with Wings BLG's newly promoted ADC due to them playing together on BLG Youth - their developmental league team.
We hadn't seen L3est16 in the LPL since the spring of 2019 when he was on OMG. I don't know what to expect here, but I know two things he likes to play carry type junglers, and if they lose game one, I believe he's out of there. Significant swap risk with Meteor waiting in the wings. Enough crying over spilled milk, on to the analysis.
These teams are very similar in how they approach the game, both favoring a more LCK type of playstyle and focusing on objective control over the more up tempo LPL style of constant skirmishing. VG are slightly better in lane, with better cs numbers, and they have better dragon control and focus. With Iboy in the bot lane, the focus on dragons and that side of the map makes perfect sense.
BLG has better gold numbers, baron control, and vision control. Though a lot of that vision advantage came from Meteor, and I expect the numbers to be very close with L3est16 in. L3est16's continuity with Wings makes me believe that BLG is looking to focus bot side more here, which could be a surprise to VG. I think that I, along with everyone else, will discount the BLG side and give this win to VG without a second thought. BLG did beat VG 2-1 in week one of spring split, but that's a long time ago now, and both teams will have different junglers.
I will side with Vici here because I do NOT like leaving Meteor out of the starting lineup, BUT I think that this may be representative of a shift in their approach. They will likely focus more on the bot half of the map looking to emphasize Wings, which could disrupt what VG is looking to do. I will try a few BLG lineups in gpps for this reason.
Top VG Plays:
- Iboy - ADC
- Hang - SUP
- Cube - TOP
- Aix - JNG
Top BLG Plays:
- Wings - ADC
- Fofo - MID
- BLG Team Slot
Summary
- Two game slates will be the order of the day for the next week and a half. Roster construction will be essential, and with how close I think this slate ends up having a one-off player from a losing team could be a way to get different on DK.
- The WE/SNG match will be the bloodier of the two today, and I will build more full stacks from this game and picking up ancillary pieces from the second set.
- I won't count BLG completely out here, but Vici has been playing bot focused LOL all split and are very polished at it. I also think they've been the better drafters, so I expect them to win. Small stacks and team slots from this one are my favorite picks.
- Nothing special to report on the FD side this morning, and that's good news. It means they don't have anyone grossly mispriced or in the wrong position. Way to go fellas
