Good evening, RotoBallers, and Happy Father’s Day! I hope all you dads out there are getting the recognition you deserve and let’s try and see if we can win you some money tomorrow morning.
Last night things played out pretty much as I expected, other than DWG scoring so well. They seem to have learned a lesson from their exposure to the LPL style at the MSC. Going to need to bump them up a bit until the summer split stats normalize.
I'll be providing my League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for this LCK/LPL slate on DraftKings and FanDuel that locks at 4:00 AM on Monday, June 22nd, 2020. Make sure you are following me on Twitter @Mr_Malmanger as I often post starting lineups when I see them and other useful info for the slate.
5:00 AM: V5 vs. Vici Gaming (-155)
I'm already tilting this matchup on Twitter, and I'm not too fond of it. I have declared VG dead to me a hundred times or more. I've dragged coach Kkoma through the mud and talked junk on every member of this VG squad. So let's try to take an objective look at these statistics.
First blood percentage goes to VG with first turret percentage going to the side of v5, but herald % is in favor of VG. V5 have better gold stats, better dragons, and better barons. VG has better damage output, better CSM, and better vision. They are all closer than you would think, given that one team is 3-1, and the other is 1-2. VG has had a full week to prep for this game, and my rage-induced Kkoma comments aside that's a long time to prep for an opponent, especially one that's not as good as we think. “And I've made up my mind, I ain't wasting no more time, here I go again.“ VG with the Leyan and Forge bro vibe win this one 2-1. Surprisingly I'm pretty firm on this one too, and initially, I wasn't. I came out of my hole and looked, said V5 EZ, went back to bed, and I hope that's what everyone else does.
Top VG Plays:
- Leyan - JNG
- Cube - TOP
- iBoy - ADC
- Forge - MID

7:00 AM: eStar vs. Royal Never Give Up (-245)
In week five of the spring split, we saw RNG brush eStar aside in a 2-0 sweep. That was the series before IG broke RNG, and after that, they spiraled out of control. Estar, too, has found struggles since those heady days of spring split. RNG are coming off an impressive 2-1 over JDG, while eStar had a 2-0 over the same LNG squad that just a week before beat RNG.
We all know league math doesn't work like that. When we look at the stats for this one, we see eStar is better early. First blood, first turret, dragons, and turrets at 15 minutes, but Royal holds a better gold differential at 15 minutes. What all this boils down to is I think it's a closer matchup than people will give eStar credit for, given the impressive win RNG is coming off. I think RNG likely take this one 2-1, but I'll be playing both sides. If RNG win it will be off the back of their mid jungle duo, and I love XLB captain in that spot if I can fit it. If its eStar instead it will be through their bot duo, and with Wink being a former RNG trainee himself I think he'll be up to the challenge.
Top Estar Plays:
- Wei - JNG
- Wink - ADC
- ShiauC - SUP
- FenFen - MID
Top RNG Plays:
- XLB - JNG
- Xiaohu - MID
- Betty - ADC
- Ming - SUP
Summary
- Back to the two-game slates for a few days, and you might ask why? There are 17 teams in the LPL, and they play a single round-robin so each team must play 16 best of threes. Ten teams in the LCK and they play a double round-robin, so each team plays 18 best of threes. In total, LPL played 660 games in the spring and LCK 446.
- The second game is the better fantasy matchup, and I like big stacks from that side. Though I kind of think we might get a sweep in the first set, which could mean some exciting constructions can find a way to the top. 3-3 or 3-2-1 could even be on the table tonight. Game stack if you're feeling frisky, I don't like it, but to be fair, I never do.
- FD has eStar and Vici priced as the underdogs, and that will free you up to go anywhere over there. Whoever you decide to go with I like Cube a lot in the top lane, he's got very nice stats on the split and a decent matchup.
