LPL DFS Advice for 3/31/20 - DraftKings League of Legends Daily Fantasy

Welcome to RotoBaller's League of Legends DFS column. We'll continue ramping up our analysis for LoL DFS all week, bringing you the insight you need to succeed.

With the LCS and LEC regular seasons over, we shift back to the LPL (my favorite league) for a 2-match slate. There are no LCK matches combined on this slate to worry about, which is also kind of nice.

Today I'll be bringing League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for this LPL slate on DraftKings that locks at 5:00 AM on Tuesday, March 31st, 2020.

5:00 AM: LGD Gaming vs. Edward Gaming

Our first matchup of the morning features ninth place EDG vs. 15th place LGD. The matchup is maybe even more lopsided than that. EDG has been without several members of its starting lineup as the coronavirus quarantine has affected the country. EDG has performed better than expected, especially when you consider that they have at times used second and third-string junglers and top-laners.

LGD has had a few bright spots this split. EDG will be able to use their superior objective control to close out these games. Both sets of matches on Tuesday are straight forward. It will be challenging to be different. You can make a slight case for LGD here, but I don't like it very much. Mostly I think I'll make my stand ongoing heavy here and lighter on IG.

Hope - ADC - ($7,800)

With Iboy gone to VG Hope has been excellent. He and his lane partner Meiko can make a good start to going, contrarian. Most will look to cram in IG's Puff and Southwind. For those looking for a reason to choose, LGD Hope has played nothing but Miss Fortune or Varus for his last five series. If LGD can disrupt this pattern Kramer may be able to carry LGD to victory.

JunJia - JNG - ($7,000)

Starting lineups are out and EDG is sticking with the ones who brought them. JunJia carries less sub risk than Leyan at the same price and more upside. He gives more KP% and assist upside. Being a two-game slate you can make a case for Peanut here as a one-off. Peanut has 60 or even 70-point upside if LGD can manage to take a game. Junjia though will be my choice as I expect EDG to sweep here and that gives him 80-90 point upside.

7:00 AM: Oh My God vs. Invictus gaming

The second match of the morning is similarly lopsided. The 2018 world champions Invictus gaming look to continue their winning ways on Tuesday. I like what OMG has done to add talent around mid-laner Icon. I feel like they are not quite ready for the primetime team. They will need more time to come together and learn each other's strengths.

As anyone who's been playing LoL DFS for years knows no one is more frustrating than IG. My favorite IG factoid is that they started their owner Wang Sicong at ADC in a league match and won! That level of disrespect is unreal. Can you imagine John Elway coming out of the booth to toss the ole pigskin around?

Top that with all the rest of the Broncos being good enough to still beat the Chargers? It's borderline unbelievable yet true. Back to the matter at hand, I doubt IG play around any more than usual. I don't doubt they win, but I won't go out on a limb that they sweep. OMG is more talented than SNG, who IG recently swept. IG also dropped a game to a much worse OMG squad last summer.

TheShy- TOP ($6,600)

The lineups for the slate have been released, and there is no other top-laner I feel comfortable recommending here. TheShy offers too much upside to pass over for any other top-laner on this slate.

FULL FADE - Leyan - JNG ($7,000)

Not only does Leyan represent a significant sub risk, but he also doesn't offer much upside. He's here to be the one member of the team that helps cover up for the rest. He spends a lot of time trying to put out fires that everyone else is busy starting. He leads all LPL junglers in CSPM as he spends a lot of time farming and placing vision down to protect his laners.

Summary

  1. I like both favorites to sweep, but on a two-game slate, anything can happen. Don't be afraid to try a one-off from a team that might lose.
  2. Remember, stacking is encouraged! 4-3 4-2-1 3-3-1 stacks are the way to go in all formats!
  3. It will be a challenge to be unique tonight. You may have to embrace some sub risk or fade a huge stud.

Looking Forward

With LPL and LCK overnight slates continuing through mid-April, we here at RotoBaller have got you covered. The League of Legends DFS action never stops. The LEC and LCS will start their playoffs this weekend, and EU Masters kicks off next week.

Check back throughout the week as we'll publish more Esports League of Legends advice, analysis, and DFS lineup picks. Thanks for reading, and good luck RotoBallers!
