ANALYSIS: Now the 3rd string running back for the Baltimore Ravens, after the Ray Rice debacle, Lorenzo Taliaferro represents a bit of a lottery ticket in an uncertain Ravens backfield. The Ravens RB situation continues to be one of the biggest mysteries in fantasy football, especially after the benching of Bernard Pierce for the first (!) fumble of his career. Does this benching reflect their opinion on Pierce as a player, especially after they no longer have Ray Rice to fall back upon in Week 3? Beats me.

But with these questions around Pierce, and the questions around Justin Forsett, a 29 year old journeyman RB, Taliaferro could prove to be the dark horse running back in this crew which is why he is appearing on our waiver wire sleepers list. Based on reviews from camp and early preseason, the coaches are huge fans of Taliaferro and believe he is a good fit in this Gary Kubiak offense. As a rookie runner, we could see Taliaferro take on more of a role within the coming weeks and eventually claim the job if he performs well. With all of these questions swirling in Baltimore, Taliaferro could be a good bench stash off the Week 2 waiver wire as we wait to see how this Baltimore RB situation develops, starting with their Thursday matchup against the Steelers.
