Logan Thomas (TE, WAS) - Week 14 Waiver Wire Pickups

ANALYSIS: We know that the tight end position is pretty much a one-man wrecking crew (Travis Kelce) and that outside of that very concrete player, it's all a random weekly affair. Perhaps Darren Waller and T.J. Hockenson can be included in that top-tier level, but not much more than that... The truth is, Logan Thomas has been balling hard all year long, and even more during the past few weeks of play.

Thomas has played all 12 games this season, which is already a feat all by itself. Since Week 6, Thomas has scored 86.6 PPR points and that marks ranks as the fourth-highest fantasy tally--coincidentally only bested by Kelce, Waller, and Hockenson. Other than his Week 9 and Week 11 duds (5.8 and 2.8 FP respectively), Thomas has finished with 10.6+ PPR points in each of his games since W6, included.

Again, getting back to that W6 game against the Giants and from that point on, Thomas has finished five slates in the TE1 realm, another time as a TE2, and only one outside of the top-24 tight ends of the week. He had his best game this past Monday when he dropped all of 24.8 PPR points on the Steelers, upsetting Pittsburgh with a 9-target, 9-reception, 98-yard, 1 touchdown performance.

Next week's matchup is ugly for Washington's tight ends as they'll face the no. 1 defense (San Francisco) against the position in fantasy football. After that, they will face the 11th- and 25th-best such units, which bodes much better for Thomas in the two critical fantasy-postseason weeks. If you don't have any of the top-three TEs mentioned above, you should try and get Thomas ROS. He's been incredibly great as of late and should keep it up going forward.
