After several encouraging weeks earlier in the season, Leonard Hankerson has disappointed fantasy players recently. Hankerson only has five catches for 50 yards in his last two games. Hankerson (37% owned) may still be available in your league, and now is the time to pick him up.
While Roddy White caught his first TD last week, the veteran receiver should continue to be phased out of the Atlanta passing attack. Hankerson is still the best receiver to have on the Falcons other than Julio Jones. Hankerson has been targeted more than White in every game except for Week 1. That will likely continue, and if Hankerson’s targets can turn into more catches, his fantasy value will increase. Hankerson also has seven red zone targets, proving he has touchdown potential in addition to his abilities as a slot receiver.
The Falcons schedule looks favorable for fantasy purposes. After the Titans this week, the Falcons play three teams that rank towards the bottom of the league in points allowed to WRs. Julio Jones returned to practice on Monday, which is good for Hankerson’s prospects, as Jones has been limited in recent weeks by injuries. If Jones is 100% he’ll draw more than enough attention to open up space for Hankerson.
Roddy White has put up a lot of production in his career, but his time has passed. Leonard Hankerson will be there to scoop up whatever isn't going to Julio Jones.
