Hey there LoL enthusiasts and welcome back to RotoBaller's coverage of LCS for the Summer split on FanDuel and DraftKings.
Week Four of the LCS Summer Split starts with another two-game Friday night slate. Teams are separating themselves from the pack and the teams near the bottom need to get into a groove in order to make a playoff push for this split. We see a matchup of two lower-middle teams tonight in the first game and a match between a surprising CLG team and the reigning champs C9 in the second.
Today I'll be bringing you my League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for the four-game LCS slate on FanDuel and DraftKings that locks on Friday, July 3rd at 9:00 PM. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @Governor98. Thanks for reading, now let's get to the strategy and picks!

League of Legends DFS Basics
Since LCS contests are being offered on both FanDuel and DraftKings, it's important to note some pricing discrepancies from site to site, but the roster slots, scoring, and roster construction rules are almost entirely identical with the only exception being that FanDuel forces you to roster at least one player (or team slot) from a third team, while you can play only two teams among your seven roster slots on DraftKings.
- Stacking in LoL DFS lineups is very important. 4-3 stacks are the order of the day (on DraftKings) with 3-3-1 becoming more popular (and necessary on FanDuel) as people try to differentiate their lineups in these suddenly large-field GPPs.
- In LoL DFS, it is very important to focus on players from winning teams. Think in terms of baseball, one side of the matchup is like a pitcher and the other side the batter. This means there is a very negative correlation between teams in the same match. Players score by accumulating kills, which costs the other side points in deaths. Just like earned runs bring down your pitcher’s score.
- Along with this another mistake I see beginners making is trusting average scoring. Players' scoring potential is only realized in games that are won. If player X averages 50 DKP, that likely comes from scoring 70 in a 2-0 win and 30 in an 0-2 defeat. What this means is that someone who looks like a value at $4800 suddenly might not end up being such a great point-per-dollar play.
- Finally, you're going to want to do your best you fill your captain slot with an ADC or MID. Depending on which teams and players you decide to stack that might not be feasible. The order of preference for your captain slot is generally ADC, MID, JNG, TOP, SUP. Some players in some positions may stand out above the others so consider stats like kill share before you make your final decision.
Game 1: 100T vs. GGS (-125)
100T has really struggled to start the season and as a result, they have announced two subs for their LCS roster this week. They will be replacing their jungle and support as Contractz and Poome will sub in for meteos and Stunt respectively. They go up against GGS here who have been anything but consistent. Just last week they got beat by IMT's academy roster and then on the next day beat one of the best teams in the league in FLY.
In this one, I have GGS winning. If anyone played last year you will know Contractz, the old GGS jungler, he was one of the top players in the league in the death category so I don't necessarily think he will be an upgrade over Meteos. I haven't seen much of Poome but anything is an upgrade over Stunt at this point. I love Closer and Damonte here. I assume that they will be relatively chalky as it will be a popular build to pair with C9 who is in the next game. This game is the closer of the two on Friday but I'll side with GGS.
Top GGS Plays: Closer, Damonte, FBI, Hauntzer, Huhi, GGS team
Top 100T Plays (if you prefer): CodySun, Ssumday
Game 2: Cloud9 (-1000) vs. CLG
The second game of the night has C9 going up against CLG. C9 has obviously dominated on all of their games so far. In the preseason, C9 told various sources that they were most impressed with their scrims with CLG. What exactly does that mean? I'm not sure but obviously I am going to be on the side of C9 here. I think the most popular builds will have Blaber or Nisqy captain as those are the best positions on the other favorite GGS. Maybe Zven goes under-owned if you'd prefer to fade one of Nisqy and Blaber that might be contrarian enough to get a unique lineup. Every C9 player is viable just have to be comfortable with the rest of your lineup.
Top C9 plays:
- Blaber, Nisqy, Zven, Vulcan, Licorice, C9 team
Summary:
- I have listed the plays in order of preference for each team and you’ll have to prioritize the top plays in each stack based on what salary cap you have to work with on each site.
- Eat the C9 chalk and make sure you split some exposure on the first game if you’re making multiple lineups. We all know anything can happen in the best of one format.
