Hello there, LoL enthusiasts, and welcome back to RotoBaller's coverage of LCS for the Summer split on FanDuel and DraftKings.
Another four-gamer today and it's a solid slate with some important games. I'm really excited to see C9 play TSM, as TSM was the only team to beat C9 in the spring split. I think it will be a good game and if TSM can fix their mid-game we might see some surprises. Let's get into the breakdown!
Today I'll be bringing you my League of Legends DFS picks, advice, and analysis for the four-game LCS slate on FanDuel and DraftKings that locks on Saturday, July 10th, at 4:00 PM. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @Governor98. Thanks for reading, now let's get to the strategy and picks!

League of Legends DFS Basics
Since LCS contests are being offered on both FanDuel and DraftKings, it's important to note some pricing discrepancies from site to site, but the roster slots, scoring, and roster construction rules are almost entirely identical with the only exception being that FanDuel forces you to roster at least one player (or team slot) from a third team, while you can play only two teams among your seven roster slots on DraftKings.
- Stacking in LoL DFS lineups is very important. 4-3 stacks are the order of the day (on DraftKings) with 3-3-1 becoming more popular (and necessary on FanDuel) as people try to differentiate their lineups in these suddenly large-field GPPs.
- In LoL DFS, it is very important to focus on players from winning teams. Think in terms of baseball, one side of the matchup is like a pitcher and the other side the batter. This means there is a very negative correlation between teams in the same match. Players score by accumulating kills, which costs the other side points in deaths. Just like earned runs bring down your pitcher’s score.
- Along with this another mistake I see beginners making is trusting average scoring. Players' scoring potential is only realized in games that are won. If player X averages 50 DKP, that likely comes from scoring 70 in a 2-0 win and 30 in an 0-2 defeat. What this means is that someone who looks like a value at $4800 suddenly might not end up being such a great point-per-dollar play.
- Finally, you're going to want to do your best you fill your captain slot with an ADC or MID. Depending on which teams and players you decide to stack that might not be feasible. The order of preference for your captain slot is generally ADC, MID, JNG, TOP, SUP. Some players in some positions may stand out above the others so consider stats like kill share before you make your final decision.
Game 1: C9 (-375) vs. TSM
This is the game of the week here in the first matchup on Saturday. C9 only lost one game last year and it was to TSM. Although TSM has changed its roster since then, the rivalry is still alive. As you may have been able to tell through my writing this year, I am a huge TSM fan. I have been since I first started playing League in season four. Here we are now in season ten and the TSM rivalry that was so fierce back then is still bigger than ever.
It's really hard to not pick the C9 side here. I think this is a championship preview as TSM has been building momentum for the last couple of weeks and whether or not they can keep it going here has yet to be seen, but I think TSM has as good of a chance as anyone to beat C9. I'm still gonna have C9 but you better believe I'll have a TSM stack or two. Don't take this as I think TSM is going to win because fanship aside it's not that likely. But if you've ever wanted to fade C9 on a slate for max leverage, here's your spot in my opinion.
Obviously, in a TSM win, there would need to be huge performances all around but specifically Bjergsen and Doublelift. But if TSM wins then more than likely everyone is going to score well. Just play the usual suspects from C9: Blaber, Nisqy, Zven. They should be fine regardless.
Top C9 plays: Blaber, Nisqy, Zven, Vulcan, Licorice
Top TSM plays: Bjergsen. Doublelift, Spica, BrokenBlade, Biofrost
Game 2: GGS vs. EG (-290)
EG has been on a bit of a downswing recently, but so has GGS. Both these teams were 1-1 last week but neither win was very convincing. I like EG in this one. I think that they are the superior team and unless they display badly, which they can, I think that they can take this one rather handily.
In this one for EG, I would be most interested in Bang as I think that EG's bot lane can take control over GGS. Jizuke is always good but I respect Damonte and I think Closer will help keep Damonte afloat as those 2 are the win condition for GGS. But give me EG and let's move on.
Top EG plays: Bang, Jizuke, Svenskeren, Kumo, Zeyzal, EG team

Game 3: CLG vs. TL (-275)
The third game of this slate has CLG coming up against TL. TL hasn't looked really good recently, even though they won 2 games last week, both games were very close. With that being said, I think that TL can turn it around here against CLG. TL has a lot more avenues to win this one in my opinion but it wouldn't shock me to see CLG win considering TL's drop-in play.
It’s hard for me to see that happening. Expect big games from TL's bot and mid lanes if TL wins. In a CLG win expect the same with Pobeltor carrying. CLG tends to have big kill totals in their wins so full stack it if that's the direction that you're headed. This will be a big game that may have seeding implications for playoffs later in the season.
Top TL plays: Tactical, Jensen, CoreJJ, Broxah, Impact, TL team
Game 4: DIG vs. FLY (-750)
We end this four-gamer with most likely the chalkiest and most one-sided game here with FLY going up against DIG. Both of these teams played on Friday night with DIG knocking off IMT and FLY losing to 100T. I expect FLY to be highly owned as they seem to be the safest play, and we have seen that this team has upside given the right matchup.
FLY is very expensive but I think you might be able to make it work on DK given the right secondary stacks in the right roles. Look for big games from Santorin and PowerOfEvil in this one. They have been performing well in FLY's games and their matchup doesn't get any easier than this one.
Top FLY plays: Santorin, PowerOfEvil, MasH, Solo, IgNar, Fly Team
Summary
- Favorite stacks: FLY, EG, TL, C9,
- This may be my fandom bias but I like me some shares of TSM today (<10-15%). Not a total fade as usual of C9 opponents. If they hit that will be a serious leverage spot.
- Players are listed in the order that I prefer playing them.
