Hey there LoL enthusiasts and welcome back to RotoBaller's coverage of LCS for the Summer split on FanDuel and DraftKings. With one weekend in the books, it's now time to see if certain teams are as good as they've looked opening weekend and if some teams are as bad as they played.
Week two really begins on Saturday with a 4-game slate for us to dive into. This is the best slate we have seen this split with some decent games on paper here. We haven't really seen many back and fourth games this split but this slate has the potential to have a lot of fireworks. So let's not waste time and let's get into it.
Today I'll be bringing you my League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for the four-game LCS slate on FanDuel and DraftKings that locks on Saturday, June 20th at 4:00 PM. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @Governor98. Thanks for reading, now let's get to the strategy and picks!

League of Legends DFS Basics
Since LCS contests are being offered on both FanDuel and DraftKings, it's important to note some pricing discrepancies from site to site, but the roster slots, scoring, and roster construction rules are almost entirely identical with the only exception being that FanDuel forces you to roster at least one player (or team slot) from a third team, while you can play only two teams among your seven roster slots on DraftKings.
- Stacking in LoL DFS lineups is very important. 4-3 stacks are the order of the day (on DraftKings) with 3-3-1 becoming more popular (and necessary on FanDuel) as people try to differentiate their lineups in these suddenly large-field GPPs.
- In LoL DFS, it is very important to focus on players from winning teams. Think in terms of baseball, one side of the matchup is like a pitcher and the other side the batter. This means there is a very negative correlation between teams in the same match. Players score by accumulating kills, which costs the other side points in deaths. Just like earned runs bring down your pitcher’s score.
- Along with this another mistake I see beginners making is trusting average scoring. Players' scoring potential is only realized in games that are won. If player X averages 50 DKP, that likely comes from scoring 70 in a 2-0 win and 30 in an 0-2 defeat. What this means is that someone who looks like a value at $4800 suddenly might not end up being such a great point-per-dollar play.
- Finally, you're going to want to do your best you fill your captain slot with an ADC or MID. Depending on which teams and players you decide to stack that might not be feasible. The order of preference for your captain slot is generally ADC, MID, JNG, TOP, SUP. Some players in some positions may stand out above the others so consider stats like kill share before you make your final decision.
Game 1: 100Thieves vs. Team Liquid (-210)
Team Liquid looked very impressive last week with a 2-0 start out of the gates. I don't see that changing here. TL looks like they're playing so loose without having to pinhole themselves bot lane since Doublelift is gone. Broxah looks like he's playing so much more relaxed and he can win through all three lanes.
I think that TL has a pretty significant mismatch in the jungle, mid and supp roles specifically so I would target those players mostly but I also think Tactical is fine. As long as Impact just plays even in the top lane, TL should win this one rather easily.
Top TL Plays:
- Broxah, Jensen, Tactical, CoreJJ, TL Team
Game 2: Team SoloMid (-125) vs. FlyQuest
This is easily the best game on paper for this slate. Neither team is a real favorite, (FLYs odds are -110) and these teams always play really close matches. TSM looked really good on Friday night dismantling IMT. Spica and Doublelift put up huge games to propel TSM to a victory.
According to FLY's Twitter, masH will be starting at ADC for FLY this weekend. I am looking at TSM to ride this wave of momentum into this game and take a win.
Top TSM plays:
- BrokenBlade, Spica, Bjergsen, Doublelift, Biofrost, TSM team
Top FLY plays:
- PowerOfEvil, Santorin
Game 3: Cloud9 (-305) vs. Evil Geniuses
EG has actually looked very good to start the split, Jizuke has been on fire and the whole team has been pretty decent on the way to a 2-0 start. That being said, they are playing C9, the best team in the league, here and this won't be easy.
If EG gets behind they tend to give up quite a few kills but C9 had chances on Sunday to break the slate wide open and they couldn't finish many kills themselves. I do like this spot for C9 but I'm not going to go overboard.
Top C9 plays:
- Licorice, Blaber, Nisqy, Zven, Vulcan, C9 team
Game 4: Counter Logic Gaming (-150) vs. Dignitas
Looking at the odds I immediately lean DIG. With a team like DIG you really have to pick your spots but they can give out points in the right matchups. It's pretty risky I'll admit but I think they're pretty underpriced here vs CLG.
I like Akaadian and Johnsun specifically, I'll add in a few Aphromoo for some more correlation but I think a 3 man is the max I'd play here. Give me a sprinkle of V1per too, I think that Ruin is way overrated, CLG is way too overpriced on this kind of slate. CLG did look pretty good in their win on Friday but I am going to try and leverage the recency bias by playing DIG.
Top DIG plays:
- Johnsun, Akaadian, Aphromoo, V1per
Top CLG plays:
- Pobeltor, Stixxay, Smoothie
