LCS DFS Picks for 07/24/21 - League of Legends Daily Fantasy for FanDuel & DraftKings

Expert League of Leagues (LoL) analysis and LCS DFS lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on 07/24/21.

Hey everyone, good morning/afternoon, and welcome to RotoBaller's coverage of League of Legends DFS for both FanDuel and DraftKings. Be on the lookout for coverage of the LPL, LCK, and LEC as well as we have some great analysts covering all LoL leagues for the Summer Split. Today, I'll be focusing on the 5-game LCS slate starting at 5 P.M. EST.

After a successful slate of games in the live stadium yesterday, another team tested positive for COVID-19, and the remaining games this weekend are being played remotely. Huge congratulations to CLG for bouncing back yesterday! I'm not thrilled about the slate today as it seems mega chalk but I'll likely play anyways.

Today I'll be bringing you my League of Legends advice and analysis for the five-game LCS slate that locks on Saturday, July 24rd, at 5:00 PM. Thanks for reading, you can find me on Twitter @nvanhareDFS for more DFS related content!

LCS Matchups

  • Team SoloMid (-224) vs. Golden Guardians(+180)
  • Evil Geniuses (-172) vs. Immortals(+141)
  • Flyquest (+228) vs. Cloud9 (-288)
  • Dignitas (+254) vs. Liquid (-325)
  • 100 Thieves(-458) vs. CounterLogic Gaming(+344)

Team SoloMid vs. Golden Guardians

Today's slate I'm looking to main stack teams I wouldn't normally. On a slate that I feel is very one-sided in most games, I'm trying to find stacks that are less utilized. TSM in general is a rough fantasy spot, they like to play slow and don't ceiling very often. I'm not even crazy confident that GG's pace is going to be a factor in this one to help them go nuts, but I'm still going to be using stacks of them anyways. 100T and C9 are likely to be the chalky 4 stacks on this slate. They are in very favorable spots with a high pace being likely. I'm going to look to avoid main stacking those two teams and find my spots elsewhere.

I'll be much heavier on TSM in this spot but don't hate the occasional GG stack. GG loves a good skirmish and when they win they all ceiling with high kill participation all around.

Top TSM Plays: PowerOfEvil, Lost

Top GG Plays: Chime, Stixxay, Ablazeolive

Evil Geniuses vs. Immortals

This is likely my favorite fantasy game for GPPs. Both of these teams have been playing quite well recently and yet neither of them plays extraordinarily slow. On a slate with a bunch of massive favorites, this is also the most "coinflip" of a game. Both of these teams are pretty condensed in their kill shares but have good kill participation. This makes for a large upside for their top players and moderate scores for the rest, making their top players great CPT spots.

I'd avoid this game in cash formats but in GPPs I love some exposure here.

Top IMT plays: Raes, Insanity

Top EG plays: Danny, Impact

FlyQuest vs. Cloud9

The first time these two matched up against each other was a few weeks back and FlyQuest managed to squeak out a win in the academy's first game as the LCS squad. While it was nice when It happened, C9 is back in form and I don't expect them to let it happen again. The bad thing about this slate is that C9 is likely chalky and FQ loves to die and not give up when behind. I'm going to look to have 2 stacks mostly from C9 or use 4 stacks if paired with some of the major underdogs from the other games.

C9 is probably my favorite large cash stack as they love to fight, often. They make for good GPP plays paired with underdogs, but otherwise, they're too chalky for me.

Top FQ Plays: Triple, Nxi

Top C9 Plays: Zven, Fudge

Dignitas vs. Liquid

This game is another great spot for cash and GPPs for the favorite. I really hate the idea of rostering DIG vs TL but I may have to do it on this one in GPPs.

Liquid is a great small stack play as they have super-condensed kill shares on tactical and either alphari/Jensen depending on the day. I'd look to use them as small stacks in both my cash and GPP lineups.

If Dignitas manage to pull off the win here it likely has to come through some sort of team fighting dominance with a huge performance from Neo and FakeGod controlling their lanes. If using DIG, I wouldn't avoid those guys.

Top DIG Plays: Noe, FakeGod

Top TL Plays: Tactical, Alphari, Jensen

100 Thieves vs. CounterLogic Gaming

This game is more of an avoid in GPPs or me as 100T is likely to be massive chalk. Of course, it's deserved, they're the best record in the league right now and CLG has played awful lately. CLG also loves feeding kills when behind so all signs point to using 100T. The field is likely going to overuse them here in my opinion so I'll look to mostly use them as a small stack or in cash only.

As much as I'd love to back CLG here, I won't do it heavily. They are definitely fighting for their dignity but 100T might be too tough of an ask. I am rooting for them though!

Top 100T plays: Closer, Abbedagge

Top CLG Plays: Broxah, Finn

Summary

  1. Today is all about getting different. There are some very chalk heavy builds that I'd want to avoid.
  2. Look to 4 stack teams like TSM, or dogs in any of the games. Remember it's a bo1 game so anything is possible.
  3. Overall, tough slate to be happy with, but stack dogs and have fun with it!
  4. I'm not one to make predictions but I'm going to have a fun 5 game parlay each week where I post my picks here in the summary. This slate I'm going with C9, TSM, IMT, TL, 100T! Good luck to all that are playing this weekend!
