LCS DFS Lineup Picks for 07/02/21 - FanDuel, DraftKings League Of Legends Daily Fantasy

Expert League of Leagues (LoL) analysis and LCS DFS lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on 07/02/21.

Hey everyone, good morning/afternoon, and welcome to RotoBaller's coverage of League of Legends DFS for both FanDuel and DraftKings. Be on the lookout for coverage of the LPL, LCK, and LEC as well as we have some great analysts covering all LoL leagues for the Summer Split. Today, I'll be focusing on the 5-game LCS slate starting at 6 P.M. EST.

My name is Nathan Van Hare and I'll be covering LCS content for the summer split here on RotoBaller! Welcome back to my, predominantly, unbiased view of the LCS slates for the summer split. Here I do my best to keep my personal feelings about TSM and EG on the sidelines and give you the best information possible.

Today I'll be bringing you my League of Legends advice and analysis for the five-game LCS slate that locks on Friday, July 2nd, at 6:00 PM. Thanks for reading, you can find me on Twitter @nvanhareDFS for more DFS related content!

LCS Matchups

  • CounterLogic Gaming (-157) vs. Golden Guardians (+129)
  • Liquid (+142) vs. 100 Thieves (-174)
  • Dignitas (+218) vs. Team SoloMid (-275)
  • Evil Geniuses (-215) vs. FlyQuest (+174)
  • Cloud9 (-172) vs. Immortals (+141)

CLG vs. GG

This matchup features 8th in the league vs the 10th team in the league. Definitely not a matchup of high skill and technicality, but definitely a fun matchup for us playing DFS. GG this split has died about 20 times per loss and CLG has died nearly 18 per loss. These are two of the highest of these stats in the league and means that whoever ends up taking the W here, should rack up tons of kills. In addition, CLG has about 20 Kills per win and GG has about 17. All the numbers point towards this being a high kill fiesta and I'm looking forward to it.

The field has loved CLG for the past two weeks and I don't expect it to stop here, especially against Golden Guardians. Expect CLG to be large chalk and for GG to be a great leverage pivot off of them. GG showed some promise in their game against a fellow bottom-of-the-table team, FQ. While it's more likely that CLG come away with the win here, LCS is a bo1 variance fest and GG definitely isn't a bad place to take a chance.

Top CLG Plays: Pobelter, Broxah, Finn

Top GG Plays: Stixxay, Iconic, Chime

Liquid vs. 100 Thieves

100 Thieves had a rough start to the split but they look back on track with their play last week. Liquid is also in very good form this split even with Armao in the lineup. 100T has a whopping 20 Deaths per loss and Liquid has a 17 DPL. These are relatively high numbers and this game also looks to be a recipe for high pace and high kills.

Along with the previous game, I like taking shots on both sides in this game and making it a priority in my builds. Liquid is an underdog here but to me, they've looked like the better team this split. While 100T is the favorite, Liquid should come in under-owned as 100T and C9 have that effect on their opponents. Liquid definitely can dominate this game and with low ownership make for a great GPP play.

Top Liquid Plays: Jensen, Armao

Top 100 Thieves Plays: Abbedagge, Closer

Dignitas vs. TSM

I don't have a ton to say on this one. TSM dominates games against poorly skilled teams. Dignitas is not a good team, therefore TSM is going to control this one almost definitely. TSM doesn't like to play high pace/kill and aren't hugely viable as large stacks in GPPs but they make for a nice cash play with a high floor.

Look to take advantage of the team slot and PowerOfEvil as they are the ones who score best on this team.

Top TSM Plays: Everyone, but in small stacks

Evil Geniuses vs. FlyQuest

In the introduction, I said that this piece would be unbiased, and it's going to stay that way. I think EG is terrible, Jiizuke is awful and they don't deserve to win almost ever. However, FlyQuest is even worse. The last split I used to love them and I still go into each week with high hopes for FQ but they are just clearly a bottom-of-the-table kind of team this split and I don't expect much to change.

If Palafox can dominate Jiizuke in mid and josedeodo can really help get picks here and there maybe FQ stand a chance, but in all reality, it's full steam ahead for EG, sadly. EG makes for a good stack in both GPPs and cash on this slate.

Top EG Plays: Danny, Impact, Anyone

Cloud9 vs. Immortals

Last but not least, the toughest game to break down on the slate...

Just kidding, it's a C9 game everyone, you know what to do with it. C9 has definitely had a rough split so far and they're still 19-11 on the year. Their time with K1ng was not great for their record either and now that they're back with Zven I expect them to push back towards that #1 Spot. It's an LCS slate, we don't bet against C9. They're favored, score well in wins, have a high floor, and have all the makings of a great DFS roster.

In short, use C9, don't use IMT, it's not rocket science.

Top C9 plays: Zven, Blaber

Summary

  1. C9 is still C9, use them.
  2. Golden Guardians is a great spot to take a stance and get rewarded heavily when they pull out the W.
  3. EG is really bad, but FQ is worse. 100T is good, but Liquid is better. All the games on today's slate look high kill except for the TSM one.
  4. I'm not one to make predictions but I'm going to have a fun 5 game parlay each week where I post my picks here in the summary. This week I'm going with Liquid, Golden Guardians, Evil Geniuses, Cloud9, TSM.  Good luck to all that are playing this weekend!
