The 2024 NFL Draft had three elite wide receiver prospects drafted in the top 10 picks – Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers, and Rome Odunze. Furthermore, Brian Thomas Jr., Xavier Worthy, Ricky Pearsall, and Xavier Legette were also first-round selections.
However, there were multiple talented wide receivers to come off the board early in the second round. Keon Coleman was the 33rd overall pick by the Buffalo Bills. Meanwhile, Ladd McConkey was the 34th overall pick by the Los Angeles Chargers.
Both rookies could be their team’s No. 1 wide receiver in 2024. Which one should fantasy players draft? Let’s dive into it.

Ladd McConkey 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
McConkey didn’t put up massive numbers at Georgia because of their rushing attack and elite defense. However, he was an outstanding route runner. McConkey had 119 receptions for 1,687 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns in 39 games in college. While the rookie wasn’t a first-round pick, McConkey is the favorite to replace Keenan Allen in the slot this season. He has made several impressive plays during training camp and could quickly become Justin Herbert’s No. 1 wide receiver.

Keon Coleman 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
Coleman was a polarizing NFL Draft prospect after he failed to have one season with at least 800 receiving yards in college. He had 115 receptions for 1,506 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns in three years at Michigan State and Florida State. However, the rookie has been the star of the Bills training camp, making multiple impressive catches. Fantasy players should expect Coleman to be Josh Allen’s No. 1 wide receiver this season.

Who Should I Draft in Fantasy Football?
Both rookie wide receivers are appealing WR4 options for fantasy players this year. The Chargers and Bills made massive changes at the wide receiver position this offseason, moving on from both starters from last season. Therefore, both rookie receivers could see over 100 targets in 2024. While both wide receivers are appealing draft options, Coleman should get drafted first. He is on the better passing attack and has had a more impressive training camp. He also has more touchdown upside and is viewed as a dangerous weapon in the red zone.
