ANALYSIS: Here is a crazy fact: last night, Kyle Rudolph lost a fumble to the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football, and it marked the first fumble of his career that spans back to 2011, having spent each season with Minnesota. The Vikings passing game has been off to a very slow start in 2020, and Rudolph has suffered as a result despite taking the field for 62-75% of offensive snaps in each game. However, opportunity has been looking up over the past two weeks, with Rudolph catching three passes of four targets for 40 yards in Week Nine against Detroit, and catching four passes of five targets for 63 yards this past week against the formidable Chicago defense.
His lone touchdown of the season came in Week Three against the Titans and he showed signs of life in a Week Six outing against the Falcons by catching three passes of four targets for 47 yards. Rudolph was long considered one of the most dependable options at the position in the game, and he earned that distinction with 4,392 receiving yards and 48 touchdowns in his ten-year, two-time Pro Bowl career with the Vikings. So Kirk Cousins keeps deciding to target Kyle Rudolph for consistent yardage in the run-heavy Minnesota offense, he could be well worth a roll of the dice as a lineup staple down the homestretch.
