ANALYSIS: It may be hard to notice Kyle Hendricks through the polarizing fog of Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant, Jorge Soler, Addison Russell, and Javier Baez, but Kyle Hendricks is making it clear that he is also a gleaming bright spot in the Cubs future. Last season Hendricks finished seventh in the NL ROY voting. He earned that recognition with a 2.46 ERA, a 1.083 WHIP, a 3.32 WHIP, a 0.4 HR/9, a 1.7 BB/9, and seven wins in 13 games started. So far in 2015 Hendricks has a 3.99 ERA, a 1.176 WHIP, a 3.46 FIP, an improved K/9 of 7.4, a 0.8 HR/9, and 2.0 BB/9. Hendricks had a rough start to the season with a 5.23 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP in April; but he has recovered in a big way in May with an ERA of 2.81 and a WHIP of 1.09. Hendricks is a talented young pitcher with a lot of consistency and upside who is slept on because there are so many young Cubs to talk about these days. Hendricks limits HR in a big way and controls his pitches to limit BB, and that is why he is an excellent option for a Fantasy Baseball Manager.
