One of NASCAR's most polarizing drivers, Kyle Busch is always exciting. The veteran NASCAR driver recently brought some thrills to Richmond Raceway during Cook Out 400 qualifying.
Busch has been electric throughout the 2023 season and has guided the Richard Childress Racing No. 8 Chevrolet to three wins this season. He headed to Richmond with top-10 finishes in six of his last seven races, though he most recently finished a disappointing 21st at Pocono last week.
The No. 8 team driver appears to be back on solid ground after a strong outing in Richmond qualifying. What is Kyle Busch's starting position and outlook in the NASCAR Cup Series Cook Out 400 on Sunday, July 30th, 2023?

What Is Kyle Busch's Starting Position At Richmond?
Kyle Busch won the SRX race on Thursday night then followed that up with a strong qualifying effort on Saturday. The Richard Childress Racing driver drove around the 0.75-mile track in 23.76 seconds. That was a mere 0.011 seconds shy of Tyler Reddick, which means Busch locked up second-place starting position for the upcoming Cook Out 400 at Richmond.
Busch fell back in his first effort at Richmond in 2023 (14th). The No. 8 Chevy did qualify second for the Spring race as well. Since back-to-back wins in 2018, Busch had finished inside the top ten seven straight times. The Chevy driver will hope to avoid the struggles that have plagued him on short tracks this season.
