Kyle Anderson (PF, MIN) - Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 22

BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues

ROSTERED IN: 39% of leagues

ANALYSIS: The Wolves are going to suffer more than they thought they would through the remainder of the season. The long-awaited return of Karl-Anthony Towns got delayed for the nth time and now Anthony Edwards is the one without a return timeline after getting injured a few days ago. The main winner here (as if he hadn’t been for months already) is Kyle Anderson.

Slomo will keep playing starting SF/PF nightly for the Minnesota Timberwolves. That’s been the case since early December, though, so there is nothing really surprising about it at this point. Anyway, and focusing on Anderson’s last couple of weeks, he’s been even better than in the first half of the season and he’s definitely leveled up his game a not or seven.

Just in the past five games, from Mar. 10 through Saturday night, Anderson has gotten two triple-doubles and one double-double. That’s insane. He’s averaged a 13-8-8-1-1 per-game stat line in that span. He’s scored 11+ points every time. He’s grabbed 7+ rebounds in all of those five games. He’s dished out 5+ dimes each match. Bonkers is falling short of describing this scorching-hot stint.

Anderson will probably regress a bit going forward because he’s never been this type of player. I mean, he’s reached 38+ FP in five of his last seven games averaging 40+ FPPG in that span. Most of that is because of the large amount of time he’s spending on the court these days (37 MPG), but the truth is that as long as the minutes stay high he shouldn’t suffer that much because the usage rates are mediocre (15%) and he’s getting to his monster production with very solid, very efficient, very replicable traits and a fantastic approach to the game in a squad depleted of alternatives capable of eating from his numbers.
