ANALYSIS: Kosta Koufos posted his second double-double of the season on Friday against the up-and-coming Timberwolves. With DeMarcus Cousins battling a back injury and Willie Cauley-Stein struggling to make a large impact right away, Koufos has played his way into a respectable role for the Kings. Even with Cousins healthy, the former Ohio State big man could find himself earning quality minutes. The eight-year veteran is currently averaging career highs in both points and rebounds, largely as a result of his increased playing time.
Koufos is shooting 54% from the floor, and is proving that he can contribute on the offensive side of the ball. Defensively, he is a solid shot blocker and has recorded a steal in 13 of his 17 games this season, and at 7', he is a presence down low who can grab rebounds on both ends of the floor. Koufos has collected at least five boards in all but two games this season. Any player with double-double potential on any given night is valuable in deep fantasy leagues.
