Kole Calhoun was touted as a sleeper option after logging 17 home runs over 127 games in 2014 and was able to pay dividends for those who saw the prediction through, as the 26 homers he launched last season put him in a three-way tie for the seventh-best mark in the league among right fielders. There may be some cause for concern with Calhoun going forward, as his isolated power dipped slightly last season, and his strikeout rate shot up (24%) while the walk rate came down (6.6%). However, it is encouraging to see that the home run output wasn't accompanied by a massive change in his HR/FB ratio, as it rose less than a point and a half over his career 14.4% rate. Unless he begins showing better peripherals, Calhoun will likely never be confused for a fantasy stud, but a composite ADP as a mid-round selection could make him worth a look, as the power seems to be one of the few consistent tools in his tool belt.
