The Redskins may have had the biggest roller coaster season of any team in the NFL this year. While many people predicted Washington would come in last place in the NFC East at the season's outset, they are now only one game out of the top spot after their 48-14 annihilation of the New Orleans Saints, due in large part to the performances of quarterback Kirk Cousins, tight end Jordan Reed, and running back Matt Jones.
Cousins had a career day against the deplorable Saints pass defense, throwing a career-high four touchdowns for 324 yards on an extremely efficient 20-for-25 passing. Cousins had little trouble cutting through Rob Ryan's defense like a hot knife through butter on the way to an easy victory. Cousins has had impressive fantasy performances in two of his past three games, but before you pencil him into your starting lineup next week remember that the Redskins face the Panthers' formidable defense in Week 11. Find a better option next week.
Tight end Jordan Reed was one of the biggest beneficiaries of Cousins' big day, catching the ball three times for 29 yards, and two touchdowns. We all know that getting two touchdowns from the tight end position in fantasy is like getting free money, so those who started Reed this week should be pleased. Reed has been a solid top-10 fantasy tight end this year, and you'd be hard-pressed to find better options than him on the waiver wire. He's a matchup-proof must-start every week when healthy.
Matt Jones broke out for a huge game against New Orleans, busting out for 131 yards on three receptions, and a touchdown. He also added 56 yards on the ground. Jones has been wildly inconsistent this year, and will likely still split touches with Alfred Morris and Chris Thompson, rendering him an extremely risky fantasy play. He is nothing more than a dart throw flex play in DFS.
