ANALYSIS: Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir had a huge showing back in Week 11 in Joe Brady's first game as the team's offensive coordinator, catching three passes for 115 yards and a touchdown. It's been all downhill from there, though. He had three catches for 47 yards in the next game, then just one for 12 yards against the Kansas City Chiefs. That all led to last week's game against the Dallas Cowboys. Shakir was targeted once in the 31-10 victory, but failed to bring in the catch.
You'd think that with Gabe Davis failing to catch a pass in three of the last four games Shakir would have been able to carve out some kind of role, but the Bills have just been keeping the ball on the ground and letting James Cook work. Last week, quarterback Josh Allen attempted just 15 passes. Eight of them went toward either Stefon Diggs or Cook.
At this point, you can't really trust anyone in this Bills passing game outside of Diggs. Allen just isn't looking Shakir or Davis' way enough for either to be a consistent fantasy threat, though Davis has a big-play ability that Shakir lacks. It's hard to see a scenario where Shakir is a fantasy option on Saturday.
