BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 19% of leagues
ANALYSIS: It isn't really surprising that Kevin Pillar remains unrostered in the vast majority of fantasy leagues. After all, 30-year-old outfielders with a career .696 OPS and current .275 OBP aren't exactly in high demand. If that weren't enough, he also plays half of his games in MLB's most unfriendly park for hitters. Nonetheless, we're recommending him as a useful waiver wire pickup.
Why? Start with the fact that he's compiling solid counting stats across the board - 47 runs, 12 homers, 48 RBI, and eight stolen bases. Then consider that he's been one of the hottest hitters in baseball over the past month, batting .330 with six homers and 41 R+BI. The Giants' crummy roster works to Pillar's advantage, locking him in as their starting center fielder. The veteran has been fitfully useful to fantasy owners in the past, averaging 13 homers and 17 steals over the prior four seasons. He's worth a look in deeper formats.
