BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 47% of leagues
ANALYSIS: In most competitive leagues with daily moves, with the possible exception of extremely shallow formats, you may well have already missed your chance to add Keston Hiura. If not, however, he's worthy of strong consideration. The top prospect in the Brewers' system - and one of the best in MLB - got the call earlier this week after Milwaukee finally tired of watching Travis Shaw stink up the joint. The veteran is now on the injured list with a wrist strain that may or may not actually exist. Either way, he'll be out of action for at least a couple of weeks, and a strong showing from Hiura might give the rookie the inside track on the starting role at second base.
He hasn't been great so far, but it's only been three games. After going 2-for-3 with a pair of singles and a walk in his debut on Tuesday, Hiura has since gone 0-for-10 with five strikeouts, four of them coming in Thursday's game. Whiffs were a problem for the 22-year-old in the minors this year; despite hitting .333/.408/.698 he also struck out 27 percent of the time. If he can figure out how to put the bat on the ball more consistently, his power should play well at the highest level.
