BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 35% of Yahoo! leagues
ANALYSIS: A popular pre-season sleeper, Keon Broxton's bat hasn't quite woken up yet. A line of .234/2/5 may not seem worth rostering a month into the season, but Broxton has the speed and potential to make for a sneaky stash. Broxton started out even slower last season, hitting .125 in the first half before being sent down to Triple-A. He caught fire upon being recalled, with a .294 average, 20 runs, and 16 steals in the last 45 games of 2016. Hopefully he doesn't wait as long to get going in 2017, but we know the talent is there, which makes him worth a bench spot in deeper leagues. If you can offset the low averages, he can already help in the SB department. Broxton is currently tied for 12th in the majors with six steals. That number will surely be boosted if/when he starts reaching base more. That begins with taking more walks, something that has always been a strength. Broxton walked nearly 15% of the time last season, but that figure has been cut in half this season. He rarely chases outside the zone, but he is only making contact on 69.9% of pitches inside the zone. The early indicators aren't good, but he simply has too much potential to ignore.
