Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is worth considering as a fantasy basketball waiver wire pickup heading into Week 8 of the NBA season.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 52% of leagues
ANALYSIS: We're getting closer to losing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope forever in the WW-target realm. Keep calm, though, as he's still available in almost half of Yahoo leagues and that means you can find your way to adding him to some of your roster in this and that league. And consider yourself lucky if you do, because there is no sensical reason for this man not to be rostered in every freaking fantasy competition out there no matter the format.
KCP has started every game for the Wizards since arriving in DC as part of the Westbrook trade. Yes, you read that right. He's also playing some freakish 29 MPG on the season and he's down just a tick to 26 MPG in the past two weeks of games (8 of them). Even with lower minutes of playing time, KCP has found his best performing levels of the year of late putting up 14.1 PPG, 3.3 RPG, 1.5 APG, 1.3 SPG (!), and even blocking three total shots--all of that since Nov. 20 included.
Kenta has logged a shooting percentage above 35.7% in all but one of his last nine games, in which he's actually hitting 46% of his healthy 9.7 FGA a day. The usage rate has gone way up of late, too, as he's gone from averaging a below-average 15.0 USG% in the first 15 games of the year to an above-average 20.9% in the past eight. KCP will give you points (14+ in four of his past five matches), treys (2 3PG on the season), and fantastic stealing numbers. Watch out for the turnovers, though, if you play in any sort of 9-cat league.
