ANALYSIS: While it's been a truly up-and-down, peaks-and-valleys season for the rookie Steelers QB, Kenny Pickett has shown his talent here and there and coming off his best game of the year to date. There are still three more weeks with teams going on a bye so fantasy GMs out there needing a streaming option or suffering from injuries/underperforming quarterbacks might find Pickett an appealing WW target.
The Steelers have already gone on their own bye in Week 9 so they aren't resting anymore this season. Pickett started a game for the first time in Week 5 (he also replaced Mitch Trubisky in Week 4) and has finished inside the top-20 QBs of four of the six slates that he's appeared in.
Pickett is now coming off his best performance as he got a rushing-boost thanks to 8 scrambles turned into 51 yards and a touchdown. He didn't throw a touchdown or a pick in Week 10, completing 18-of-30 passes for 199 yards. It's the third game in a row for Pickett to reach 191+ passing yards and 20+ rushing yards.
Although Pickett's W10 outing served him to reach the 11th-best FP tally (19.1) among quarterbacks (pending MNF) it's hard to see him turning into a QB1 ROS given his prior starts. Pickett projects as a middle-of-the-pack QB2 for the remainder of the season with some 13-FP floor if things go relatively well for him and a low ceiling because he just can't have multi-TD games to save his life.
That said, and with byes still out there to navigate, Pickett should keep finding himself in the 12th-to-20th clip of quarterbacks weekly, turning him into a nice option for those managing in deeper leagues or 2QB/Superflex leagues. The rushing upside is no joke, either.
