ANALYSIS: Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III has been one of the top running backs in the NFL since taking over as the starter last season. He was the RB6, averaging 14.9 half-point PPR fantasy points per game in 2022 after replacing an injured Rashaad Penny. The second-year player has kept up his elite production this year. Walker is the RB9, averaging 12.9 fantasy points per game, totaling 12 or more fantasy points in 60% of the contests.
The former Michigan State star has 149 rushing attempts for 613 yards and six touchdowns this season. He also had 17 receptions for 173 receiving yards and a touchdown. Unfortunately, fantasy players won’t have Walker for the Thanksgiving matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Head coach Pete Carroll told the media that the star running back wasn’t expected to play after suffering an oblique injury in Week 11.
With Walker out of the lineup, Zach Charbonnet, DeeJay Dallas, and Kenny McIntosh will handle the backfield workload. Unfortunately, the matchup isn’t ideal. The 49ers have held running backs to only 15.6 fantasy points per game, the seventh-fewest in the NFL.
