BALLER MOVE: Add in 14-Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 35% of leagues
ANALYSIS: With Bam Adebayo in town and playing every freaking game for the Miami Heat, odds are Kelly Olynyk has escaped your attention. But the truth is, Olynyk has started 31 of the 36 games he's played this season at the C spot, he's playing around 27 MPG on the year, and although he's always going to be on the shadow of Bam--thus having a limited upside--he's more than a viable big-man solution for those in deeper leagues.
Olynyk's usage rate has stayed virtually the same all year long, at around 17%. That's not even that bad, considering he's shared the court with starters the like of Bam, Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro, etc. Even then, Olynyk is finding his way to shooting nearly 9 FGA per game hitting 48% of them from the floor in the couple of weeks leading up to the AS break. That's great to see considering his season-long 42 percent shooting from the floor. Also: Olynyk has sandwiched the AS weekend with his two best games of the year, an 18-10-7-1 effort against New Orleans and a 20-7-2-2-1 performance facing Orlando, hitting 4 treys in each of those games. Not bad.
Looking at his career numbers, Olynyk's shooting should rebound a bit in the second half of the year, as he's currently below his career mark in both FG% and 3P%. That's promising because even not on great shooting Olynyk is averaging 10+ PPG to go with 6 RPG, 2 APG, and almost a steal per game. The rostership is low in Yahoo because Olynyk is a bench-guy masquerading as a starter in Miami, but he's not the worst of WW-targets to get into your roster if you're managing in a deeper league this season.
