BALLER MOVE: Start in 14+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR4/WR5
ANALYSIS: It's still a bit difficult to trust Chicago Bears wide receiver Keenan Allen. He did have two touchdowns last week, but he has yet to have more than six targets in a game since returning from his injury. He faced one of the worst pass defenses in the league last week.
Keenan Allen is lowkey cooked man. I understand he had 2 touchdowns and he can be a reliable receiver, but he cannot create separation anymore.

It should have been a massive red flag for fantasy managers when he described the heel injury that held him out of two games as a "wear-and-tear" thing. It could still be lingering, and he doesn't look like himself on tape. Sure, he had two scores, but very few players can be relied upon to produce high touchdown outputs consistently.
Allen's injury history shows that he's had to deal with a ton of issues with his right leg. It's fair to speculate there may be long-term issues with that leg. It doesn't tell us much, but it's at least a bit of insight to help. You can watch all his routes in Week 7 below.

He doesn't look terrible, but he's not the explosive player he was in 2023, and there's not much to suggest he should earn double the targets he did before. He's also on a team with TE Cole Kmet, WRs D.J. Moore and Rome Odunze, and RB D'Andre Swift, all of whom demand significant targets.
He's a tough start outside of deeper leagues until he begins getting more targets consistently.

The wide receiver position has an advantage over the running back position in PPR scoring formats, typically. Receivers' main job of catching the football leads to them scoring more points per touch, and those WRs that consistently get high volume can produce great results with a strong floor. Not every WR is like this, though, […]
