BALLER MOVE: Start in All Leagues.
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR2
ANALYSIS: The Bears offense looks different than it did this time last year. Gone is Justin Fields, who is now the No. 2 signal-caller in Pittsburgh. Instead, Chicago will feature Caleb Williams, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
He isn’t the only new face in The Windy City, with former Charger Keenan Allen also now on the roster. The Bears begin the 2024-25 campaign with a Week 1 clash with the Titans.
Tennessee made some moves this offseason to bolster things on the defensive side of the ball, specifically adding cornerbacks L’Jarius Sneed and Chidobe Awuzie.
But the Titans’ defense isn’t the primary concern in this situation as it pertains to Allen's fantasy potential. Without question, he was the No. 1 option on the receiving end in Los Angeles for years.
However, the veteran wideout will compete for targets with DJ Moore, who is coming off the best season of his career. In addition, Chicago drafted Rome Odunze out of Washington. Then, of course, there is Cole Kmet, a player who can get hot at infrequent intervals.
While the plethora of pass-catchers on the Chicago roster may mean a dip in production for Allen this season, the 32-year-old has over a decade of service in the National Football League.
Not only that, but he also has 59 receiving touchdowns on his resume. With production like that, few scenarios warrant fantasy managers benching Allen in Week 1.
Keep him starting in all fantasy formats, assuming a recent issue with his foot doesn't keep him off the field for the opener.
