BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team PPR Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 3% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: It took time, but it looks like Detroit has finally found its no. 1 WR, as uninspiring as that is. It was always clear that this team was going to suffer thanks to a thin-as-a-paper-sheet receiving corps led by a tight end, no less, but after a few weeks, the trio of Kalif Raymond, Quintez Cephus, and Amon-Ra St. Brown seems to be the starting one. Raymond, seven games into this thing, has elevated among his teammates in pretty much every category and leads the bunch in PPR points entering Week 8.
Kalif Raymond went undrafted in 2016, played for four different NFL franchises since then, and finally landed in Detroit this past offseason. Not bad for him, who seems to have finally settled somewhere as a WR after playing in special teams mostly prior to this year. Raymond has been the Lions WR1 in targets (39), receptions (26), yards (334) and touchdowns (tied at 2). Only T.J. Hockenson has been better than Raymond among the Lions' offensive pass-catchers and he's only averaging 2.3 more PPR per game.
Raymond has logged 7+ targets in back-to-back games while catching 6 passes in both W6 and W7 for 37 and 115 yards respectively. He scored his two touchdowns in a single game (6-3-46-2 in Week 4 facing Chicago) and he has yet to find paydirt again, but at least we know he can do it. Detroit is definitely not the greatest source of fantasy value this season, but Raymond looks like a good enough target for those hurting for WRs in deeper formats.
