BALLER MOVE: Start In All Formats
POSITIONAL VALUE: High-End WR2
ANALYSIS: Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson is one of the NFL's best wide receivers, but his 2023 campaign has been marked by injury. Jefferson missed seven games because of a hamstring injury before returning to the field last week against the Raiders, but Jefferson played just 13 snaps before suffering another injury against the Raiders. Jefferson took a hard hit from Marcus Epps and was sent by ambulance for testing.
Jefferson is expected to suit up on Saturday, which would usually make him a must-start WR1 option. He is a "must-start" because...well, because he's Justin Jefferson. However, as far as rankings go, he's outside of the top 10 at the position this week because there's just so much uncertainty.
From his injury-riddled 2023 season to the fact that the Vikings will be turning to Nick Mullens at quarterback this Saturday, there's simply a lot that could go wrong for Justin Jefferson against the Bengals. Of course, he could also shake off those concerns and play like he did at the beginning of the season, when he had 149 or more receiving yards in three consecutive games to open the year. It's a question of risk vs. reward and when it comes to Jefferson, the reward is high enough to ignore the risk.
