Analysis: Justin Bour finished fifth in NL ROY voting last year right behind Noah Syndergaard and right in front of Joc Pederson. This is because last season Bour slugged .479 with a .800 OPS and hit 23 HR in 409 AB. This season for the Marlins in just 76 AB Bour has hit three HR and has an impressive slash line of .276/.341/.461. Bour's isolated power has dropped from .218 to .184 but he is also walking 1.8% more and is producing more frequent line drives. For a guy that has made his name through crushing homers, Bour has been producing an incredibly safe BA and OBP even compared to his excellent figures from last season. Strangely this season, Bour has just a .652 OPS in Miami and has a .908 OPS in road games. However, considering Marlins Park is currently the 8th most HR-friendly park in the MLB, that has to be bound to change.
