ANALYSIS: J.K. Dobbins suffered a torn Achilles and will miss the remainder of the 2023 regular season, meaning Justice Hill becomes a high-priority waiver add ahead on Week 2.
Baltimore continued to deploy a run-fist attack in Week 1 against the Houston Texans, and Hill scored two rushing touchdowns in the 25-9 win. Although he posted just nine rushing yards on eight attempts, he appears to be locked in for goal line opportunities alongside Gus Edwards and Lamar Jackson.
The 25-year-old averaged 5.3 yards per carry on 61 rushing attempts in 2021 and 2022, so his inefficient rushing day gets a pass for now.
Baltimore could look to sign or trade for a veteran running back which could extinguish Hill's value soon, but until then, he'll be one of the hottest names on the waiver wire.
