Fantasy Baseball Impact Of The Colorado Rockies Releasing Outfielder Jurickson Profar
According to a tweet from The Denver Post’s Patrick Saunders on Sunday morning, the Colorado Rockies are releasing veteran outfielder Jurickson Profar.
Saunders tweeted the following on Sunday:
The Rockies later announced the move in a tweet via the official Twitter account of the team's communications department:
Profar hit .236 with a .316 on-base percentage in 111 games for the National League West organization in his first season with the club. The former San Diego Padre, who’s spent the last four seasons in the National League West between San Diego and Colorado, also added eight home runs and a stolen base in 472 plate appearances for the Rockies while mainly seeing his playing time in left field and at designated hitter.
The 30-year-old was reasonably productive at Coors Field, but struggled mightily on the road:
Jurickson Profar 2023 Splits:
- Home: 87 wRC+, .281 batting average, .359 on-base percentage, .793 OPS, .153 ISO, 9.5 BB%, 14.7 K%, three home runs, 232 plate appearances
- Road: 58 wRC+, .193 batting average, .275 on-base percentage, .572 OPS, .104 ISO, 9.6 BB%, 21.7 K%, five home runs, 240 plate appearances
Considering his struggles away from Coors Field, he’s probably someone fantasy managers should stay away from in the event that he catches on with another team between now and the end of the regular season.
