ANALYSIS: Tampa Bay Rays' top prospect, Junior Caminero, finally returned from his six-week absence on July 9. Caminero suffered a Grade 2 quad strain on May 28 and missed a large portion of the season. However, the infielder hasn't missed a beat at the plate.
MLB Pipeline's No. 3 overall prospect has tallied a hit in four of his first five games at Triple-A Durham since his return. He also hit a home run in his first game back at rookie ball on July 9. While Caminero has dealt with a nagging quad issue for most of the year, the expectation is that he will be called up at some point in 2024.

With the Rays essentially becoming sellers at the trade deadline and just recently trading away Randy Arozarena, look for the team to call up its top prospect in the coming weeks. That makes him a must-stash option ahead of Week 19 of the MLB season. Last season, Caminero hit 31 home runs and 94 RBI across 117 games at High-A and Double-A.
