ANALYSIS: If I'm honest here, I never thought Juan Toscano-Anderson would stick in the NBA long-term. That seems to not be quite the correct prediction these days, though. While it is true that Golden State is going through a period in which the team has lost multiple players to injury that are still out, it isn't less true that Toscano seems to have found a place in this squad, is starting games, and is playing quite sound basketball for GSW.
It's been five starts in a row for Toscano in February, going back to Feb. 4 (Thursday) last week. In those five games, his minutes have gone down steadily from 40 to just 21, but he's played at least at a per-minute average level in every match he's started this past week-plus. JTA is putting up numbers reading 10 PPG, 7+ RPG, 2.5+ APG, and 1.5+ stocks per game in his past six games.
Even when James Wiseman and Kevon Looney come back, Toscano is doing more than enough to stay in the lineup and logging minutes even if he's moved to the bench. Toscano has shot a mighty 64 percent from the field in his past six games while attempting 8 FGA on average, which is more than a healthy diet, getting to 16%+ usage rates in half of those games and topping 25% twice.
