BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 58% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Joshua Palmer might be slightly over-rostered for the type of player we write about in these weekly WW columns, but he's well worth checking in most (if not all) fantasy football leagues out there as a priority to add off waivers given the Chargers' offense status and Palmer's own exploits.
First of all: no, Palmer is good but he won't be putting up 30+ PPR points weekly going forward as he did last Sunday against the Chiefs. Palmer is coming off his best game of the season (and one that he won't top) thanks to doing very much the same he did in Week 9 (8-of-10 on receptions, exactly the same 106 yards) only now scoring two touchdowns for a total of 30.6 PPR points.
Palmer has seen an astonishing volume of targets in his last four games (the first of those in Week 6 before going on a two-week hiatus) getting 12, 10, 8, and finally 10 more looks last Sunday. That's a perfect average of 10 targets per game in that span, of which Palmer has caught 70% for not a quite-great catch rate and a subpar (for that type of volume) 78 yards per game average.
The good news for Palmer is that Keenan Allen returned last weekend (and was his usual self: 5-of-8, 94 yards) but Mike Williams only had a brief comeback as he left the field banged up once more in Week 11 and it is yet unknown how much time he'll miss ROS.
Palmer is a must-add, must-start player in virtually every fantasy league on a WR3/Flex role weekly and a higher-value play in deeper formats.
