BALLER MOVE: Start In 12-14 Team Leagues (If Keenan Allen is Out)
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR3/4
ANALYSIS: Los Angeles Chargers wideout Joshua Palmer returned from a six-week stint on the injured reserve list in Week 15. On a Thursday night against the Las Vegas Raiders, he caught all four of his targets for 113 yards and a touchdown, making him the WR11 for the week in half-PPR formats. While it was a fantastic showing in his first action since his knee injury in Week 8, more context is needed.
Palmer earned just a 12.5% target share from Easton Stick and 14.4 of his 19.3 half-PPR fantasy points came from a busted coverage that resulted in a 79-yard touchdown. Obviously, this kind of deep strike only happens every once in a while, so fantasy managers can't rely on that to happen again. It's also worth noting Keenan Allen was inactive due to a heel injury.
If Allen plays against the Buffalo Bills in Week 16, Palmer will likely have a low floor and limited ceiling. If Allen is out, he can be viewed as a volume or touchdown-dependent flex play. The Bills have allowed the 10th-fewest fantasy points per game to wide receivers this year, so the matchup is worrisome as well.
