It's been an injury-filled season for Josh Hamilton, but he is expected to be activated off the DL on Tuesday after losing a month to a hamstring injury.
According to the Dallas Morning News, the Rangers are even considering playing Hamilton in center field upon his return to the lineup. Given his injury history, that can be viewed as a risky move, but Hamilton thinks he can handle the shift over.
So far this year, Hamilton has only appeared in seven games. Over that time, he has accumulated 22 at bats to go along with two home runs, five RBI, five runs and a .273/.385/.636 stat line (1.021 OPS). His return may cut into the playing time of top prospect Joey Gallo, who was called up shortly after Hamilton hit the DL.
