BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 33% of Yahoo leagues
ANALYSIS: Hypothetical situation: you're 7-3 in a 12 team league with six playoff spots. You're basically a lock to make the playoffs, but you don't feel great about your team. You're ninth in scoring despite being third in the standings. You need to make some risky decisions to really have a shot at a title.
Enter Josh Gordon, the All-Pro turned NFL outcast set to return to the field in Week 13.
Gordon was a force in 2013. He holds the NFL record for most receiving yards in a four-game stretch with 774 yards. The following year, Gordon was suspended for 10 games due to violation of the NFL's drug policy. He returned for five games before once again being suspended for drug use. After a long road of suspensions, returns, and more suspensions, Gordon is finally on track to return to football after being reinstated this month.
Gordon is reportedly in the best shape of his life. He is finally sober for the first time in his entire playing career. But why should fantasy owners waste a roster spot on a guy who hasn't played football in three years?
The Browns are desperate for offensive help. Corey Coleman is set to return this week to be the Browns WR1, but the team could use help opposite him. A Coleman/Gordon combination would finally give rookie DeShon Kizer a chance to prove himself with real NFL receivers. Hue Jackson is coaching for his job and can't afford to waste a talent like Gordon is he is sober and committed. Gordon is going to have a chance to prove himself.
Gordon is only 26 years old. He still has a long life ahead of him. He had success playing with Brian Hoyer and Johny Manzeil. There isn't a player on the waiver wire with more upside than Gordon in the fantasy playoffs.
