BALLER MOVE: Add Only in Deep Leauges
ANALYSIS: It appeared that Josh Beckett was on his way back after having two good starts in which he gave up 1 ER in 13 IP, but then he got rocked by the Mets in New York even though he was awarded the W. It appears the old Beckett has not fully returned. The velocity on his fastball has not improved from his injury plagued 2013 season. He's displaying a lack of control as evidenced by his highest BB rate in a decade and although he's doing a good job of stranding runners (84.8% LOB rate), he's never left more than 78% of runners on base and that was in his rookie year of 2001. You can expect more runners to score on him as the season continues. If you need W and K help in a deep league, Beckett is a good pickup. Everyone else should continue to scout.
