BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 5% of Yahoo! leagues
ANALYSIS: When the Cincinnati Reds signed shortstop Jose Iglesias from the Tigers this offseason, it was primarily to have him fill a utility infielder role and provide positive value with his elite glove.
Instead, Iggy has taken over as the team's starting shortstop, and he is slashing .295/.324/.423 with a career-high nine home runs, along with 52 runs scored, 48 RBI and five stolen bases.
Iglesias still has no idea how to take a walk (3.6% walk rate) but he makes solid contact, and the juiced balls and move to a much more hitter friendly environment has no doubt helped the shortstop find a nice groove at the plate.
Iglesias is hitting a blistering .393 with 12 runs scored in the month of August, and while that clearly won't last he is worth a look in deeper (14+) team leagues as a short-term plug-in to help get teams into the fantasy playoffs.
