Baller Move: Add In All Leagues
Owned In: 58% of Fleaflicker Leagues
Analysis: Initially looked upon as a fourth outfielder entering the season, 24-year-old Jorge Soler is now a consistent starter for the Cubs. Once Kyle Schwarber went down for the year, Soler emerged as the natural choice for starting left fielder. While he’s played in 18 of the club’s 19 games, he hasn’t started every game, perhaps throwing his consistency off. This could be the reason for his pitiful .192 average early on. Still, Soler is improving in other aspects of his game, as his BB% has gone up two points and his K% has dropped seven. While his average remains under the Mendoza Line, his young track record hints at this simply being the way Soler starts. While not as low as his current average, his career average in April is .226, the lowest of any month. If you happen to be in a league where he’s available, Soler could provide you with plenty of runs and RBI opportunities.
