BALLER MOVE: Start if Healthy
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB3/FLEX
ANALYSIS: San Francisco 49ers running back Jordan Mason (shoulder) has been a surprise late-round pick, waiver wire stud, or a lifesaver for those who drafted Christian McCaffrey and decided to pick up his handcuff. He's the RB8 in full-PPR scoring and has two games with over 20 PPR points scored. He's been a workhorse in CMC's absence.

Trusting 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan didn't work out for people who drafted McCaffrey. It's hard to trust a coach who downplayed his situation so much. So take this with an underground mine's worth of salt. If Mason plays, he's worth a start, though.
It may be risky since he could be trotted onto the field by the coaches and be part of a committee or not able to make it through the game without re-aggravating his injury, but it's a chance fantasy managers will have to take for the juicy upside he provides. He is facing a tough defense, though.
He should be started in most leagues but has been downgraded to an RB3/FLEX due to injuries and the tough Kansas City Chiefs defense he'll face in Week 7.

The wide receiver position has an advantage over the running back position in PPR scoring formats, typically.
