BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 43% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Baltimore Orioles outfielder/second baseman Jonathan Villar is working to rehabilitate his career with a move to Baltimore. At this point, it seems fair to say that Villar’s incredible 2016 performance was an aberration. However, since returning to everyday player status after his trade to Baltimore, Villar has shown that he can still help fantasy owners.
In 22 August contests, the veteran has hit .250 with four home runs, four stolen bases, and respectable run production. He has slotted in at first, second, or third in all his games with the Orioles thus far, so he will have plenty of opportunities to pad those numbers. With the fact that he has been playing at all of these positions, Villar may also have eligibility all around the infield as well as the outfield.
While the Orioles have the worst record in baseball, players like Villar, Cedric Mullins, and Trey Mancini have been bright spots. Villar has regained his reputation as a player with a good combination of power and speed and should be considered in most leagues.
