BALLER MOVE: Add in AL-Only Leagues / Deeper Leagues (14+ Teams)
ANALYSIS: At this point in the season, if you are in a mixed league and looking to turn to Jonathan Schoop as the savior of your MI slot (or even worse, 2B slot), then you are probably the captain of a sinking ship, or just fighting it out until the very end to maintain your self respect. On the other hand, if you are in an AL-Only league, or a much deeper league, then Jonathan Rufino Jezus Schoop is a borderline undroppable commodity.
In his first full season in the big leagues, the young man has shown flashes of power, as evidenced by his 12 bombs in his 353 at bats. Unfortunately, his free swinging ways have yielded a putrid .218 batting average and anemic .254 OBP. He has also managed to strike out 89 times and only walk ten times, so the long term potential for his playing time may be in jeopardy if he doesn't show some plate discipline heading into the last month of the season while the Orioles battle to win the AL East. If you need a deep flier or injury stop gap, this young man can be a short term solution in the right situation; just don't expect any Robinson Cano numbers in the near future. He will hit for power in bunches, but probably won't be a consistent producer down the stretch.
