Setting My Fanpicks Lineup
When I was putting my lineup together, I kept in mind that this game could easily become a shootout with the number of injuries the Rams have on their side of the ball. The Vikings are also reeling after last week's brutal beatdown at the hands of the Buffalo Bills. Both teams have elite offenses when they're clicking, and they also have a very established pecking order. In season-long fantasy, you can take a few more risks, but, in daily, one wrong play can cost you a ton of money in a hurry.
Both quarterbacks have elite great this season, but the Vikings defense is healthier, which made me lean towards quarterback Kirk Cousins at the end of it all. Chalk plays don't give you a ton of variation, but running back Todd Gurley is just too good to pass up. If the Vikings pass defense slows quarterback Jared Goff's aerial assault down, then Gurley should see a healthy workload.
With a limited salary cap, I had to get creative with my final two spots. I devoted a lot to Gurley, so I went with two high upside plays. Wide receiver Robert Woods leads the Rams in targets, so he should be a good high floor pick. Cooper Kupp doesn't receive the most looks or the longest throws, but he scores a lot of touchdowns.
For my three bench spots, I wanted to fill it out with some high-floor candidates. Running back Dalvin Cook is expected to be limited or absent, so Latavius Murray, at $4,500, is a great value. Tight end Tyler Higbee is the team's fifth option, but he is a big target, especially down in the red zone. For only $6,000, I could do much worse than to have wide receiver Brandin Cooks rounding out my bench squad for me.
