BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 23% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Joey Lucchesi was a popular waiver add in April, but a month-long stint on the disabled list led to him being cast aside by many fantasy owners. His first start back was a poor effort, as he failed to escape the second inning in a loss to Oakland. Since then, however, he's been quite good. In five starts, he's struck out a batter per inning while compiling sparkling ratios (2.28 ERA, 1.06 WHIP). Perhaps most encouraging is the fact that he didn't allow a single home run in those games after giving up 10 in his first 10 starts of the season.
The only blemish on Lucchesi's recent run of success is the fact that he has averaged under five innings per start. Despite that, he's managed to secure a pair of victories anyway. He'll hope for continued success when he toes the rubber at home against the Diamondbacks on Sunday. Owners in need of pitching can find him on the wire in three out of every four leagues currently.
